300 Shields Slot Review

Everyone knows of the fictionalised re-tellings of the Battle of Thermopylae within the Persian Wars, where 300 Spartans were said to have fought bravely against the floods of soldiers looking to conquer the world. The story was even put together in the 2006 Warner Bros. film of the same name. So, it’s no wonder that such a theme has also bee developed for the gaming world in NextGen Gaming’s ‘300 Shields’. In the product, you’ll find icons of various different soldiers, incoming barrages of arrows, swords, longships and various shields. Every spin of the reels will also fill your speakers with an action-packed soundtrack.

There are five reels and three rows worth of a layout on offer here from this game, as well as a total of 25 customisable pay lines. Your coin value is able to be altered with the plus and minus buttons situated at the side of the ‘Bet’ box, and increases up from £0.01 to £0.20 per active line. This is then multiplied by the amount of pay lines, and you’ve got your maximum overall wager of £5 per spin.

Special Features

The wild symbol in this game is represented by the close up of the Spartan soldier in mid-charge. He will stand in for all other icons on the reels in order to make a win, except the scatter icon.

And speaking of the scatter, this is represented by the shield, and when two or more appear in any position on the reels, they pay out a bet multiplier, with five multiplying it by 100. Three or more of these appearing will activate the ‘Battle Feature’, which sets the reels off on freespins. During this round of five, every shield icon that appears within will increase your ‘Shield Count’, awarding you additional freespins with higher multipliers included.

Summary

300 Shields provides players with a great take on the aforementioned story, thanks to its interesting freespins and generally good game play.
