Alchymedes is the most recent slot game by software provider Yggrdasil. It offers amazing graphics, with a very sophisticated and well-thought through design. Gameplay appears to be equally complex, but don’t let that scare you, because this game is a bundle of fun and fascination. You can tell that the developers have taken the theme of alchemy very seriously, as the backdrop and the entire setting takes you to the medieval laboratory of some dedicated alchemist. Various potions and mysterious concoctions appear as symbols on the reels, which for the ease of distinction each have separate colors. There’s green, blue, yellow and the most valuable of them all is the purple liquid. The lower value symbols picture the playing card suits. And we’ve got to hand it to the soundtrack as well, providing just the right amount of mystery and enticement to the atmosphere.

Special Features
There aren’t any traditional bonus rounds in this game, but let’s first get the more mundane features aside. The slot has a regular Wild symbol that can substitute for any of the regular symbols to help create winning combos. You will notice that to the left of the reels is a Tetris kind of depiction. It shows you the Wild pattern, of which there are over 15,000. These are randomly assigned to each of the levels in the game, and you will need to make your way through the levels to get a different pattern. These patterns, called the Spreading Wild Patterns, will determine where the Wild symbols that land on the reels will go.
In addition, each level starts off with a 1x multiplier. But as you spin the reels, that multiplier can randomly increase anywhere from 1 to 5 times. The multiplier you get will affect the win you get, when you complete a level. After you have completed a level, the game will offer you The Alchemist’s Scales feature. This feature will literally bring a scale to the screen and you will need to choose between the two options it will offer. The first option is adding more Green Wild Potion, which will increase the potential of the Wild Pattern. Alternatively, you may choose to add Red Multiplier Potion. This will in turn increase the multiplier potential.

Alchymedes is yet another exquisite Yggdrasil creation. The graphics and atmosphere are truly unique and offer a special feel to the overall gaming experience. Though gameplay may seem a little too complicated at first, it really isn’t. It’s different from traditional slots, but where would we be without innovation?
