We’re taking a trip back to Ancient Rome in this game from NextGen, so you’ll be sure of a few surprises and feasts. It takes place against a back drop of columns and ornate marble, and the reels of the game are filled with relevant imagery to its theme. So, you’ll be spinning your way through Roman helmets, sandals, shields and chariots, as well as old Roman coins. There’s also a shot of the Colosseum, a beautiful maiden bearing a rose, a chained tiger, a bunch of grapes and a bag of money. These symbols are all designed in a nice enough way so as to provide a visually appealing game.
Call of the Colosseum is played on a five reel and three row interface, while a total of 25 pay lines have also been inserted into it. You do have the option of customising these in order to suit your personal preferences. Furthermore, players can also switch around the bet they place per round, with totals in the range of £0.02 to £4 per active line being available. This offers up a total amount of £100 able to be placed per round as a maximum bet.
Special Features
The wild icon that has been included in this game is apparently of the Roman emperor, and he will appear on reels two, three and four only. Should he do so, he will act as a stand in for all other icons to form a winning combination, with the exception to this being the scatter icon.
And speaking of the scatter icon, this is represented by the silver Roman shield. These can appear in any location on the reels and will pay out when two or more show up. If you manage to spin five across the reels, you’ll receive a maximum reward of £100.
The scatter also has another perk to it. Should three or more of them show up at any given time, you’ll be rewarded with a total of 10 freespins of the reels. All pay outs during this round are also doubled, and if any emperor wild symbol shows up, it will reveal either a thumbs up, or thumbs down icon. Every thumbs up response you get will award you up to three more additional freespins.
